About Me
Equity and acceptance has always been something I am passionate about. It then became obvious why this was the case when I was diagnosed recently with autism and ADHD in my teenage years. I’d describe myself as a chameleon, a wonky pepper and any other fabulous metaphor that I’m yet to discover.
I find it very cool how many autistic people, in their desperation for expressing their genuine selves, turn to creativity. The power that these people hold goes very unnoticed and unappreciated.
It hurts to see how often the autistic community are so easily talked over therefore, I took the only option there was, try to help in ways I knew would have helped me years ago. I see a lack of representation in the media of autistic people showing their autistic lives, openly, without unnecessary explanation.
I’m no believer in the deficit mindset and I hope that comes across clearly in my weekly blog posts.
Thank you for being with me on this journey of battling ableism and this journey of self-awareness and acceptance. I’m looking forward to working on lots of projects to share!
